Dance Diary: Month 8 and a bit...

Ok, I think it is safe to say that the regular blogging part of my New Year resolution is failing ever so slightly....

BUT! I am feeling increasingly inspired every day to get this up and running properly and to make it better than ever, and my first step towards doing this is making my posts regular once again (I am openly admitting defeat here).

Not a very clear picture but taking part in the Zumbathon
So, at the beginning of this year I started a 'feature', if you like, following my progress in my dancing New Year's Resolution, and I am very happy to say that I am still an avid zumba-goer (every Wednesday I am at that class) and I still find it just as fun as I did about six months ago when I first started. In mid-July I even took part in a sponsored Zumbathon raising money for Help for Heroes (one of my personal favourite charities) and Wish Upon A Star. This was definitely a brilliant night; not only did we dance for over two hours, there were 'Spice Boys' and, as a whole, the event raised around £5000 - fantastic! It is great to take part in a hobby I love doing and raising funds for well-deserving charities.

The little 5kg Kettlebell I use with two
I won't even attempt to pick up!
I have also recently taken my fitness up another step! A few weeks ago now, my boyfriend introduced me to Kettlebell training, and God does it hurt! I use the little 5kg bell (as seen in the picture) to do squats, lifts, press-ups, swings and whatever else you can do with it two, maybe three, times a week before work or at the weekend. I will admit I've had a little break over the last week but I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before @UltimateCoddy kicks us into gear again, so if you see me tweeting about sore leg, arm and stomach muscles, you'll know why!

So, even though I may not be actively blogging about this, it is definitely still occurring. The next step will be actually weighing myself and measuring my progress, now that should be interesting...
