Renovating our Residence: Part 1

If you follow me on Twitter, then you may have seen that I am leaving my little seaside flat behind and moving in with the one and only @ultimatecoddy! It is a beautiful place which I am moving into - the communal hallway has wooden panels lining the walls, a bending double staircase and a giant stained glass window! The flat itself is large compared to most and has high ceilings, traditional, timeless features and (my favourite) chandeliers!

However, the decor does need modernising so this is what we are going to be doing over the next few months! First up... the living room!

Before - The fireplace after being painted white
but before the caulking!

Before - One corner, we exposed the broken plastering!

Before - Cream walls, broken plaster

During - Daniel painting the doorway white

During - Daniel painting above the picture rail

After - The corner and the plaster is completely fixed!

After - One of the chandeliers against the newly painted wall

After - the opposite corner: curtains removed and awaiting blinds!

Now, I think I should add that, although I am not in *any* of these pictures, I was involved with the painting of the walls, fireplace and woodwork! And we still have to get a few more bits of furniture and new blinds, but as soon as we do, it will be blogged!

You get a pretty good idea of the colours used, but for more information on the colours, paint and wallpaper, keep an eye out for Renovating our Residence: Part 2 (coming soon!)
