Countryside Delights

Tomorrow marks the beginning of what is probably Lincolnshire's biggest and most popular event, The Lincolnshire Show. I will be attending with the magazine on Thursday so if you spot me, say hi!

Over the past couple of years, I have really grown to appreciate the county; its delicious foods, its rich agricultural history and the picturesque settings - historical cities, rolling countryside and sandy coastlines. I've even been daydreaming about going horse riding recently! Never done it, always been curious but for some reason I really want to give it a go... I think I could definitely see myself as a Lincolnshire country bumpkin!

For anybody that has not attended The Lincolnshire Show, the fayre is strongly based around the county's agriculture industry, from machinery and livestock to foods and fashion. There seems to be have been a 'farming' influence on fashion breaking through and I'm sure this is only going to become more popular as the autumn and winter sets in. So, in the spirit of the 128th annual Lincolnshire Show, here are a few farming fashion finds.

Wellies are a must (especially with rain forecast over the two days!), and these Hunter Wellies are a perfect fit for this trend whilst still showing your patriotic side.

Hunter Wellies 'Original Brit' £125

Or, if you are trying to avoid overspending (like me!), then So You Shoes have some adorable styles available such as these.

Quilted jackets are cropping up in many high street stores, and this is one of my favourites. In fact, the more I look at it, the more I want it! It even has tweed patches!

Button Front Coat £30

Denim has been used as material for 'working' clothes since the 1870s due to its robust qualities, and has been a popular fashion item since the 1950s. We've come a long way and now jeans are available all different sizes and colours, so while you're out mucking horses and driving tractors (or not?!), why not add a pop of colour?

New Look Green Skinny Jeans £16.99

Check shirts; definitely a must. This one has a more contemporary feel thanks to the tie at the bottom whilst still retaining traditional agricultural roots with its denim elbow patches.

Minimum check shirt from ASOS was £60 now £30

Of course, you'll need to protect your eyes on those sunny days so add a touch of glamour with some stylish specs. I'm a big fan of Aviators and the sunglasses below are an absolute bargain!

River Island Gold Aviator Sunglasses £10

And there's always room for a pretty scarf too.

Yumi Polka Dot and Flower Scarf
from House of Fraser £14.99
