Finding a workout playlist

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen that I recently joined  a new gym; I have been doing Zumba for around 18 months now and absolutely love it still, but I definitely felt like it was time to take things up a notch. I think I waited so long to do this because gym memberships are so expensive, but luckily a new branch of Pure Gym opened up in Grimsby at the end of July and now I am a member!

I have been to use the equipment a couple of times and have taken part in a couple of glasses (Yoga being my new favourite - I love how good it feels to be stretched, and for your bones to crack, even if a gym isn't the most relaxing of places...) but the one thing I always forget to do before I go is set up a workout playlist.

I think it is important to find the right balance when it comes to workout songs; they need to be upbeat to be motivating, but at the same time not too overpowering so that they become irritating. Sometimes you might hear a remix of a song on a night out or during a class and wonder what it is, but can't find it - I do this a lot!

Well, for a while now I have been receiving emails from a website called runhundred.com - it is a service where, once you have entered your email address, the site will send you a list of the month's top 10 workout songs... and you can even recommend your own too!

To give you a little taster, here are this month's choices:

You can also browse by genre, tempo and era (I can't wait to find some early 00s classics!) so if you're stuck for finding playlists to keep you going, here is one suggestion.
