There are two things that I have grown to love in recent years - 1. online shopping (when I have the funds!) and 2. social media - so you can imagine how excited I felt when I was sent information about this new fascinating venture...
Mallzee.com is a new site coming later on this year which is aiming to create a whole new shopping experience, making socialising a big part of online shopping. It will allow its users to create their own 'mall' by choosing from the hundreds of brands involved, New Look and Urban Outfitters for example, and the site will pick items based your personal taste and style - sounds perfect for when you have a certain look in mind, but can't find the right piece of clothing... (and I know this happens to me, a lot!)
But here's where the social aspect comes in - you can share your products with friends via Facebook by inviting them to visit your 'mall', and from there discuss your choices. If you are unsure of an item, you can create a poll to get some feedback and your friends can even pick their favourites. If they purchase the item from your 'mall' you could potentially earn money as the 'owner' - who doesn't want a few extra pennies?!
I am always intrigued to see where social media will lead next in both a business and blogging sense - especially with the likes of photo-based apps such as Instagram and websites for fashion bloggers like wiwt.com becoming so popular! - and this direct link between social media and online shopping seems like something a lot people like myself, blogger or not, will enjoy. I have not seen the full Mallzee.com yet (I have only received information about it) but I genuinely feel excited about this and am eager to see how it all works.
Even though the site isn't up and running fully, you can still join up to
receive a pre-launch invite where you will also be entered into a
competition to win £100 in shopping vouchers, plus some other prizes too... if you're lucky! (I've got my fingers crossed!)
For any of you lovely readers who are intrigued, you can find more information at the Mallzee.com website and sign up here; I have a feeling this is a site to look out for in the near future.
