Winter's coming...

The evenings are getting darker day by day, the temperature seems to have plummeted over night and I'm afraid, it is time to put those summer outfits away.

On the other hand, we now have the perfect excuse to shop for a new winter wardrobe! I prefer winter fashions to those of summer - more fabrics, textures and looks to play about with (and not to mention having the excuse to wear comfy, cosy clothes 80% of the time!) I have been a very lucky girl; my brilliant mother has decided to treat me and here's a quick look of what I've been purchasing so far...

To start, a new winter coat! I have been browsing online lately and as soon as I saw this coat, I fell in love with it!

The first thing I love about it, is that it is navy; this has to be one of my favourite shades to wear and even though it is still quite dark, it is just that little bit different to the usual black. Secondly, I absolutely adore the peplum skirt; a great way to add shape to your silhouette (as well as being pretty and girly!) Thirdly, the military-style fastenings are very on trend, but the overall style can still be quite formal too - it ticks all the right boxes for me. This coat costs £75 from Miss Selfridge - I can not wait until it arrives!

Next on my list, winter boots. Since February, I have been walking to and from work so I have really began to appreciate a comfy yet stylish pair of shoes. Last winter, I practically lived in a pair of black patent boots and was lost when they finally broke. Yesterday, I found this pair...

Shiny, huh? Patent just seems to look smarter than matt which is ideal for work. But, because they have a very (very) slight heel and elastic up the calf, they are ultra comfy too. These are not leather unfortunately (I know that leathers are definitely worth the investment!) but for £26.99 (from Jonathan James), I couldn't go wrong!

And finally, the comfies...

I'm the type of girl that like cosy nights in, in front of the fire with DC, watching a film (or The Walking Dead, which is my new fave since Desperate Housewives ended!), eating junk food and topping it off with chocolate while the wind and rain crashes against the window. I ventured into Primark during Monday's dinner break and I found thee bargains; thick, spotty, pink pajama bottoms and oh so soft slipper booties, both £5 each. And so, this was the plan for Monday night - absolutely perfect!
