Like most places in the country, the town centre has its own Christmas Lights Switch On celebrations, but this year was different; as well as the shopping centre staying open late and, of course, the town being lit up, there were two markets and a small concert hosted by Lincs FM and The Grimsby Telegraph. I work nearby so it would have been rude not to have gone!
I ventured over to Grimsby Minster and had a peek round the Fabulous Christmas Fair. Set within the beautiful Church (which can be dated back to 800AD), were stall holders showcasing beautiful festive treats, handmade crafts and special one of a kind pieces.

I always wondered what Jack Frost looked like...
Along Victoria Street was a Farmers Market. Here you could find all the usual suspects - hot pulled pork, local cheeses, Mediterranean foods...

Visitors were treated to a performance by Humberston Academy school choir who sang Christmas Carols, and an appearance from the cast of this year's Pantomime, Cinderella. Finally, the lights were switched on by a local boy and his father - but unfortunately I missed this as my phone battery died! But here's a quick look at the tree before the lights anyway...
And if you were lucky enough, you may have caught a glimpse of the reindeer too!
The Fabulous Christmas Fair will still be open in Grimsby Minster today from 10am to 4pm, and of course the Christmas Tree will be lit up in all its glory at the Riverhead until Father Christmas makes his appearance next month.
