So, I had a little dilemma - what do I watch now? I obviously like my girly dramas but I have discovered that my taste in television programmes has diversed a little. In no particular order, here are the shows I'm watching at the minute...
Once Upon A Time
There's something quite fascinating about Grimm's fairytales; we all hear the stories as children and grow up as adults still longing for our Happy Ever After. In this series, the characters are banished to a place where they will never be truly happy - our world - but the arrival of Emma Swann in the small town of Storybrooke means that things begin to change...
You get to see each character in modern day times and watch as their lives unravel; I constantly find myself thinking about what is going to happen next!
How I Met Your Mother
I know, I'm about seven years too late with this one! Fans of 'Friends' are bound to enjoy this as it is based on five friends living in New York city, falling in love, facing dilemmas and finding themselves in funny situations, but it is cleverly produced thanks to the use of flashforwards and flashbacks. My favourite character has to be Barney Stinson; he is legen... wait for it... dary!
The Walking Dead
I must admit, this is not something that I would usually choose to watch, but I gave it a try and all I can say is, if you haven't seen it yet (and don't mind a bit of gore) then you must!
I was sceptical as to how a zombie apocalypse could be made into an on-going television series, but it works. Even though zombie killing is a massive part (obviously!), the characters' lives and decisions play just as much of a role - I can't wait to get stuck into season three!
Oh it's nearly time for the happiest show on earth to come back for its fourth series, and the good news is that Sky has learned from last year's scheduling problems and has made sure the series will run more consistently (as opposed to the many breaks it had last year!). I am anxious to see how this series plays out since this will be the first one where several of the main characters have left McKinley High, and therefore new characters will be introduced. But on the other hand, I can't wait to see Kate Hudson and SJP's cameos!
This may just be one of the funniest television series I have ever seen - it is just so understated! Almost like it doesn't even try to be funny. Sofia Vergara is fantastic as Gloria, and Eric Stonestreet as Cameron, and Ty Burrell as Phil... I could go on! I have only seen odd repeat episodes on Sky so I am going to try and watch this from the very beginning... one day.
Are you watching any good series at the minute? Or have any more recommendations?
