On the Saturday before Christmas, the postman came to the door with a delivery for me - it was my prize from Old Fashioned Susie's blog giveaway!
Susie's blog is one of my regular reads; she combines everyday issues - hair, beauty, fashion, food, events - with her vintage lifestyle so effortlessly. I have been wanting to learn more about different areas of vintage (I just don't know where to start!) and I find that Susie's blog is a great starting point for me.
So, what did I win?
The prize came in a beautiful Art Deco inspired box - I have mentioned in the past that I am a fan of this era (and my calendars are from this range!) - and inside was a lovely little Christmas card.
Next up was a simple black belt, accentuated with a winding gold buckle, and two lovely pieces of jewellery; sterling silver sparkling earrings and an amber beaded necklace. I also received some little luxury beauty samples including Benefit's Sun Beam, L'Occitane's hand cream, E.L.F's nail polish in Smoky Brown and Chanel's body lotion and signiture perfume, Chanel No 5. Here's a quick peek, but I will blog about the products in more detail throughout the year when I use them...
This is something that DC was very impressed with - a Catwoman address book! My old degree tutor always stressed the importance of an address book to keep contact details safe, so why not keep them in a book which is very, very cool?
2012 was undoubtedly a fantastic year for Great Britain, and now the patriotism can continue with this quaint postcard set.
I mentioned above about not really knowing where to start when it comes to vintage, well now I can start learning thanks to this Style Me Vintage book. I still need to have a proper read through but after a few quick glances, I can't wait to get stuck into it. The 1930s pages certainly caught my eye...
And finally, I can practice vintage make-up looks thanks to The Vintage Beauty Parlour Pin Up Calendar 2013. It also gives me a great excuse to snap up some beauty bargains...
Oh and I can not forget, I also received a Duran Duran canvas shopper bag!
This was such a great little start to Christmas, and I would just like to say a massive thank you to Susie again for the brilliant prize! As I also mentioned above, I will blog about more of these pieces in more details when I get chance to use them, so keep your eyes peeled!
